BV OUT
Early Detection of Vaginal Microbiome and Metabolome Imbalances to Prevent Bacterial Vaginosis
About
Imbalances in the vaginal microbiome contribute to recurrent infections, infertility, pregnancy complications, and increased vulnerability to sexually transmitted diseases. Similarly, despite their prevalence, conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and bacterial vaginosis (BV) remain poorly understood, largely due to the historical exclusion of women from clinical research. As a result, diagnostic tools are often invasive, costly, and inconvenient, creating barriers to early detection and timely care. BV Out shifta diagnostic focus from the vaginal microbiome to the vaginal metabolome, enabling rapid, low-cost detection of dysbiosis through a simple swab-based assay. This metabolomic approach captures real time biochemical changes, providing earlier and more precise insights than traditional methods.
